The analysis applies to any 16-bit or higher PCM signal.
WaveAnywhere 3 Pro also performs waveform analysis to detect and analyze audio-frequency modulations. The analysis applies to any 16-bit or higher PCM signal.
Analysis, correction and restoration of defective traces and signals by applying to their envelopes
Solution
When using software, waveform analysis is performed on the waveforms as an input source. If an input is faulty, it will be displayed on a separate screen as an error trace. If no error trace is displayed on the screen, no faulty information is recorded on the waveform. However, if an error trace is displayed, a PCM waveform can be analyzed and corrected on the screen.
WaveAnalysis software is designed to allow tracing all defective waveforms on an input PCM waveform, while at the same time preventing defective information from being permanently stored on the input PCM waveform. Because no faulty information is permanently stored on the input PCM waveform, the only way to determine which defective part of the waveform is the source of the error is to compare a portion of the input waveform with the error trace.
PCM vectors and modulations
PCM vector analysis is performed on both analog and digital PCM signals. The voltage is divided into one- or four-channel vectors. A single-vector trace is visualized. Multiple-vector traces are combined to provide a complete analysis.
WaveSearch allows you to view a single-vector trace, multiple-vector trace or a combination of both traces at the same time, allowing for visual comparison of the traces at any point in time. The vector analysis allows you to observe and compare the quality of a single trace or multiple traces at any point in time, and to identify any faulty signal and correct the problem. If no error is found, the trace is considered correct.
Figure 7. Vector Modulations
PCM modulations are displayed on an input PCM waveform, showing the modulations and the position of the modulation on the waveform. When the level of the modulation is low, the modulation and its position are displayed as a greyed line. If the level is high, the modulation is displayed on the waveform. For example, if a sine wave is modulated onto a digital PCM signal, a sine wave is shown with the modulation on a greyed line that indicates the position of the modulation. The sine wave does
